Danals Family Teaser

Last weekend, I had the great opportunity to shoot some family photos for my friend Anna and her beautiful family.

They were great sports and I can’t wait to finish going through all the photos.

In the meantime, here’s precious little Justin.

Stay tuned for a few more of my favorites!

Virginia Fun

This past weekend we were able to visit and house-sit for our parents while they went with my Grandma to Tennessee.

My folks live just a few miles from the ocean, and on our last trip, we had promised Josiah that we would all go play at the ocean. But it turned out that the weather was super cold and windy, and many tears were shed over our broken promise.

So this time around, we did our best to spend as much time outside as possible. It was much warmer, but still fairly chilly with the wind off the water.

But Josiah didn’t care. He had a blast throwing pine cones into the ocean and playing with the sand.

He loves loves his daddy and it gave me an opportunity to have fun snapping and playing with the camera.

You made it here! My first blog post on my new blog!

I am so thrilled to be here at this point to share with you. I hope to use this blog as a tool to share my adventure diving into  something new and hopefully discovering more about the dreams that God has for me. I am scared, humbled, and excited during this chaotic time.

Some of you have asked how long this has been in the works. Honestly, I have no idea. What became an idea a long, long time ago — before I met my husband — has finally launched into this photography business we have together.

I want to tell you a couple things I have learned up to this point and the things that I hope to share with you along the way. I know for one that this is a journey for me, but I hope that you can join me in the little steps I take along in this walk. We have spent a lot of time trying to come up with ways in which we can take this slowly and not to rush.

I am constantly learning new things from different photographers, the tricks of the trade, and in a way I’m overwhelmed at how much there is to learn. On the other hand I am super thrilled to be apart of telling people’s stories through pictures. I am super stoked to see where this journey takes us and how much fun I’m going to have.

This blog is going to be mainly for things I’m learning as a photographer. Obviously pictures that represent my style from photo shoots will be on here. And my life. This wouldn’t be a blog if I weren’t being honest and transparent with everyone.

So here it goes! Welcome and enjoy.
