Tune My Heart

A couple of weeks ago I got the privilege to photograph a beautiful girl named Reagan.

We had a ton of fun scoping out different locations around Butner and Creedmoor

Our night involved mexican food, a couple of outfit changes, and did I mention fun?

We met Reagan and her family last summer and they have become dear friends.

The title of this post is tied to Reagan’s story. Last year she had a regular check up and the doctor heard a heart murmur. Sometimes these turn out to be nothing and you can go your whole life without even knowing about them, but God designed Reagan uniquely so that her heart required some surgery to keep all the blood flowing correctly.

I think she is so brave and a very sweet girl.

The hymn Come Thou Fount has a phrase “tune my heart to sing thy grace”. That is my prayer all the time, but I hope it is the same for her.

Jason Rumbough

Zack and I had a great time last week getting to know¬†Lucas Gambit Records‘ newest artist, Jason Rumbough.

Having never met him before I was a little nervous about shooting him, but it turned out he was nervous too!

The stories about the season in his life and passion for people was refreshing for Zack and I. It made the session really fluid and him sharing his heart made the time go by really fast.

We found out we had a lot in common. He goes to our church and he used to be the worship leader at the campus that Zack and I now go to.

He was a great sport and we had a ton of fun scoping out fun places to shoot in Durham…

Six Plates

A couple of weeks ago, I had my first official photo shoot with Lucas Gambit.

It was a little last-minute, but I was happy to oblige and get my feet wet. I’ll admit I almost got cold feet and ended up begging my husband to come with me for moral support. I am so glad that he did too! It’s nice when you have someone to have by your side and make you feel like you can do it!

The event was a music/wine festival!

Every year Six Plates wine bar in Durham hosts the “txakolifest“, which is a celebration of, well… txakoli.

Folks buy their tickets in advance and come enjoy the wine and music.

I had a ton of fun! Thanks Sam!!
